About the Foundation
The HaysMed Foundation was created in 1995 and is a charitable, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support HaysMed. The Foundation, in our partnership with donors, seeks to meet both immediate and long range health care needs.
A 20-member volunteer board and staff guide the efforts of the Foundation.
The HaysMed Foundation is an active and dedicated organization that works collaboratively with the Medical Center to meet both immediate and long range health care needs to improve the quality of life for the people we serve. We work to assist HaysMed with its purpose "To Help People Be Healthy."
HaysMed is a private, not-for-profit hopsital formed by the 1991 merger of two religiously affiliated facilities, and offers the only major level service in the region. The Michael E. DeBakey Heart Institute is the primary provider of heart surgery and cardiac care for people in western Kansas. HaysMed is also well known and respected for its cancer prevention and treatment programs through the Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute.
HaysMed provides medical, surgical, and pediatric care along with cardiac, neonatal and intensive care units; cancer, joint care, diagnostic imaging and eye surgery center; the sleep center, and inpatient rehabilitation programs with occupational medicine and independent physician clinics.
HaysMed also provides support to more than 20 rural hospitals across the state, together with bio-medical engineering and mobile diagnostics. HaysMed delivers exceptional care to the people we serve.
