About the Foundation

In an effort to address the increasing challenges faced by the medical community, the HaysMed Foundation was established in 1995. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to support, assist and promote the interest and welfare of Hays Medical Center, its programs and activities. The Foundation is governed by a board of 20 community volunteers.

Our Vision 

Gifts to the Foundation provide vital philanthropic support to help fund life-saving equipment, special projects and programs for the Medical Center that will positively impact the health of our region.

About HaysMed 

HaysMed is a private, not-for-profit hopsital formed by the 1991 merger of two religiously affiliated facilities, and offers the only major level service in the region. The Michael E. DeBakey Heart Institute is the primary provider of heart surgery and cardiac care for people in western Kansas. HaysMed is also well known and respected for its cancer prevention and treatment programs through the Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute.

HaysMed provides medical, surgical, and pediatric care along with cardiac, neonatal and intensive care units; cancer, joint care, diagnostic imaging and eye surgery center; the sleep center, and inpatient rehabilitation programs with occupational medicine and independent physician clinics.

HaysMed also provides support to more than 20 rural hospitals across the state, together with bio-medical engineering and mobile diagnostics. HaysMed delivers exceptional care to the people we serve.
